Universities across the country are paying for LexisNexis subscriptions, which means they are directly funding ICE’s mass deportation machine.

2. Saturday, 1:00pm, Bay Area: Two Years of Genocide – Arms Embargo Now!

Meet at:

Oscar Grant Plaza
Broadway & 14th St.
Oakland

On October 4th, we will commemorate two years of genocide by taking the streets to demand an arms embargo. At least 280 shipments have left the Oakland Airport in the first 6 months of this year, carrying deadly military cargo to maintain their F-35 fleet. KILLER CARGO OUT OF OAK!

As we mark two years of genocide, we recall our responsibility to the people of Gaza, who have resisted an all-out war on their lives for over 700 days. In confronting those who continue to make this genocide possible, we affirm that the United States, Canada, Europe, and Arab states bear full complicity in Zionism’s crimes. The time is now to link arms, reenergize ourselves and our people, and stop the world for Gaza.

3. Saturday, 7:00pm – 9:00pm, Screening of SIR! NO SIR! Suppressed Story of the GI Movement to End the War in Vietnam

Revolution Books
2444 Durant Ave.
Berkeley

Screening of SIR! NO SIR! The Suppressed Story of the GI Movement to End the War in Vietnam. An award winning documentary by David Zeiger

We are showing this film at a time of grave danger. The Trump regime insists, defying the US Constitution and legal norms and precedents and in opposition to state and local government, that the National Guard and Marines can be sent to any city. And on the explicit mission of suppressing legal public opposition to the Trump regime, and all opposition to fascist ICE kidnappings and deportations of immigrants This has already happened in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and plans are now rolling to send them to Memphis, Tennessee, Portland, Oregon and other cities.

Sir! No Sir! is a powerful documentary of the rebellion inside the US armed forces during the war in Vietnam, sheds important historical perspective on that urgent question. The film vividly takes you inside the rebellion that spread on the battlefields of Vietnam and , in the words of one US army colonel, even “infested the entire armed services.” This is a part of reality that has been erased from public memory.

Sunday, October 5

4. Sunday, 12Noon (PT); 3:00pm(ET), “Severed” Screening + Panel discussion

Register: Meeting Registration – Zoom

Donkeysaddle Projects, New Disabled South, and Adalah Justice Project will launch a month-long campaign with a virtual screening of the new short documentary Severed, followed by a discussion linking Palestine and disability justice. The discussion will feature Mohamad Saleh (protagonist and co-producer of “Severed”), Dom Kelly (ED of New Disabled South), Sandra Tamari (ED of Adalah Justice Project) and Jen Deerinwater (ED of Crushing Colonialism)

Produced by Donkeysaddle Projects, +972 Magazine, and The Nation in partnership with Just Vision, Severed (2025) follows the story of Mohamad Saleh, a teenager from Gaza who lost his leg at 12 and survived five Israeli military assaults. In those attacks, he lost his home, close family members, and best friends. His story is not only one of personal loss, but a reflection of the thousands of Palestinians disabled by Israel’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.

Following the screening, there will be a live panel discussion with Severed protagonist and co-producer, Mohammad Salah, Executive Director of New Disabled South, Dom Kelly, Executive Director of Adalah Justice Project, Sandra Tamari, and Founding Executive Director of Crushing Colonialism,’ Jen Deerinwater.

As we near the second anniversary of the relentless genocide in Gaza, our panel will dig deep and connect the linkages between the disability justice movement in the US and the mass disabling of Palestinians occurring in Gaza right now.

5. Sunday, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Boycott Chevron Picket

Temescal Chevron
5500 Telegraph Avenue
Telegraph & 55th, Oakland

Join a monthly demonstration at the Chevron in Temescal

Signs and chants will be provided. Bring your energy and tambourines!

Israel’s genocide machine couldn’t run without power from Chevron. Israel’s war on Gaza and Occupation of Palestine contributes to the climate catastrophe. Chevron supplies light and energy via its operation and co-ownership of two major Israeli-claimed fossil gas fields in the Mediterranean.

Chevron’s extraction activities are funneling millions of dollars in tax revenues to Israeli government coffers, directly fueling Israel’s system of settler colonialism and violence against all Palestinians. In 2022, those revenues amounted to over $462 million.
BDS is a global nonviolent Palestinian led movement, and we demand that Chevron immediately cut its contracts with genocidal Israel, and end its role in climate devastation globally.

Following in the tradition of the anti-apartheid gas station boycotts of the 60s & 70s, Palestinians and allies are building a global movement to hold Chevron accountable for its crimes through a coordinated boycott of Chevron gas stations and products around the world.

7. Monday, 5:00pm – 6:00pm, Protest at Peter Thiel’s “Antichrist lectures”

Commonwealth Club
110 Embarcadero
SF

(Walking Distance from Embarcadero BART)

MUNI # 14

This Monday, Tech Oligarch Peter Thiel is continuing a weekly series of four lectures addressing the topic of the biblical Antichrist. This is the final lecture of the series.
Join us for a protest this Monday! We need to denounce what Peter Thiel represents!
Who is Peter Thiel?
Thiel is a tech entrepreneur and investor who helped launch JD Vance into the vice presidency and has deep ties to the growing surveillance industry.

These lectures will be off-the-record. Peter Thiel has been outspoken about his opposition to democracy and he actively calls for defunding universities and public education,

Additionally, his Palantir technology has been complicit with genocide in Gaza and is being used to create a hostile police state environment in our own country.

This is our time to speak up and shine a light on this sinister figure playing kingmaker in our politics while steering our country toward a techno-feudalist future.

2nd year since genocidal violence accelerated in Palestine

8. Tuesday, 5:30pm – 7:00pm, Driving the Movement I: Book Talk with Black Power Veteran Lorenzo Kom’boa Ervin

West Oakland Public Library
1801 Adeline St.
Oakland

This is the first in a two-part series of events with Black anarchists and authors in the Bay Area. For the second event, visit https://driving-the-movement-jonina-2025.eventbrite.com/.

It’s no secret our communities and the movements to defend them are under attack. Fascists relentlessly heighten political repression, using despair to overwhelm and immobilize us. Movement veterans who survived great sacrifices in their struggles against racist state oppression remind us that we have been here before—and that we can withstand it again. Now, more than ever, we must learn from them how to organize under dire circumstances.

Lorenzo Kom’Boa Ervin was a member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and then shortly after, the Chattanooga branch of the Black Panther Party (BPP). While incarcerated for his contributions to the revolutionary struggle, Lorenzo connected Black liberation struggles to anarchist theory through writing, foremost of which is the contemporary classic Anarchism and the Black Revolution. Since then, he has continued to build social movements across the American South, the country, and the globe.

At this community conversation brought to you by Black Rose Anarchist Federation – Bay Area and Oakland Public Library, Lorenzo will reflect on JoNina Abron-Ervin’s new book Driven by the Movement: Reports from the Black Power Era to share lessons about how we can fight and survive fascist violence to bring a new, better world into being.
