In the past few weeks, CalCare District Leaders have led 13 virtual visits with legislators, with 10 more scheduled for the coming weeks. That’s more than 20 face-to-face meetings with legislators to make sure that CalCare is a top priority in 2023 — and we’re not slowing down.
In the past few weeks, district leaders fighting for CalCare have met with legislators and checked in with each other on their progress.
In their meetings with legislators, nurses and community leaders have shared powerful stories about our broken health care system and the need for CalCare. We’ve heard from many legislators who appreciated hearing from constituents in their district and have expressed their support for CalCare.

Because of our organizing last year, 9 out of 11 of our CalCare Champions won their elections for California State Assembly and State Senate. 2023 is going to be an important year for our CalCare work — we’re going to do all we can to make sure it’s at the forefront of our state’s legislative agenda.
Our work this year started with our meetings with legislators — our next actions are going to be even bigger, and we hope you’ll be a part of them, Michael. If you’re ready to help us take our organizing in California to the next level, RSVP now for our Statewide Organizing Call on Wednesday, February 15, now!
In solidarity,
Phil Kim
