International call to action for 25 May: Day of global one-day hunger strikes for Palestinian prisoners

Why are Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike?

Join a coalition of Palestinian groups and solidarity activists, including JVP and Norcal Sabeel to demand that Israel meet the just demands of the strikers to be treated according to internationally recognized human rights standards.

On April 17, 2017 — Or “Palestinian Prisoners’ Day” — 1,500 Palestinian political prisoners launched a collective hunger strike – out of a total of 6,300 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails. The strikers are demanding basic human rights, including an end to the denial of family visits, proper medical care and treatment, access to higher education, an end to solitary confinement and administrative detention, and an end to imprisonment without charge or trial!
