The housing crisis continues, and we continue to be priced out. The median rent for a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco is $3,370 per month. The median home price was a whopping $1,500,000 in May, far more than the average family can afford. Meanwhile, evictions have continued to rise each year since 2010. Between March 2015 and February 2016, there were a whopping 2,134 evictions.
Community members have been coming together for accountability on how the mayor’s office makes decisions on how to spend housing money and what programs get put in place, and are calling for funds and policies to keep hard-hit tenants and homeowners in the city.
