The CPUC, with only a few days notice, has declared an “emergency” voting meeting this Monday in San Francisco, in which it plans to approve for PG&E the authority to issue $6 billion in bond financing to facilitate its Chapter 11 Bankruptcy maneuver to escape its wildfire debts.
There is no emergency. PG&E is seeking this approval in order to be assured bond financing so that it can file for debt protection. There is no reason whatsoever to make it easy for PG&E to duck its debts, by giving it a $6 billion dollar bailout just days before it intends to file for Chapter 11 debt protection.
Say NO to the CPUC! Please join me at this special meeting and help stand up to corporate greed and government complicity:
Monday, January 28, 2:30pm, CPUC Auditorium, 505 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco (near Civic Center BART)
