Online registration: Webinar Registration – Zoom
Care Income Now! announces the Launch of an International Survey: “What Do Mothers and Caregivers Want?”
Launch and survey available in English, Spanish, Italian, and Thai
There is an assumption that childcare and/or elder care is all that mothers and other caregivers need. But we are never asked what we think about how we spend our time and the resources we have/don’t have. This survey aims to find out what caregivers of every gender want, including in different countries.
Some of the questions you will be answering:
* How many hours a week do you spend caregiving?
* Did you get the support you needed to breastfeed?
* Do you find it hard to have to go to work when your child or relative is unwell?
* If you had no financial pressure, would you do the waged job you are doing now?
* Do you think your caring work is a contribution to society that should be paid?
Sponsored by Care Income Now! an international network of grassroots women and organizations coordinated by the Global Women’s Strike campaigning for a care income for all, regardless of gender, who doing the work of caring for people and planet.
4. Tuesday, 12 Noon – 2:00pm Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights on International Women’s Day!
In person
Sproul Plaza – Entrance nr. Telegraph & Bancroft
UC Berkeley
One hour rally to be followed by march through the city of Berkeley.
We Refuse to Let the U.S. Supreme Court
Deny Women’s Humanity & Decimate Their Rights!
ABORTION ON DEMAND & WITHOUT APOLOGY!
Everyone for reproductive justice is welcome. Our first hour of this action will be a rally on the campus in Sproul Plaza (near campus entrance) where we will rise up to say Roe v. Wade must stand.
Roe was the landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction. Yet Roe v. Wade protects so much more than abortion rights. It protects other core, basic human rights including marriage equality and access to contraceptives and fertility treatments like IVF. This is EVERYONE’s cause. Step up and step out with us!
Without an immediate and large uprising, the Supreme Court stands poised to decimate this landmark decision. The Women’s March, which in past years organized actions on International Women’s Day, has abandoned the cause of preserving Roe v. Wade and is already planning for a post-Roe America. We say NO to that response. Join us in Berkeley as we rise up on March 8 as part of a national day of action.

5. Tuesday, 5:00pm International Women’s Day 2022:Defend Abortion Rights! Rally
In person
Meet at:
Powell & Market St.
SF
Women’s rights are under attack. The unelected and unaccountable body of the Supreme Court is threatening to reverse decades of struggle for abortion rights by undermining the precedent of Roe v. Wade in Mississippi and Texas.
The Democratic Party stands idly by while the assault on women’s reproductive rights and bodily autonomy continues, disproportionately effecting poor women and working-class women of color. Join us in the streets to make our voices heard!
On Feb. 28, the Senate voted on the Women’s Health Protection Act, defeating the bill in a 46-48 vote. The WHPA, a landmark bill that would have enshrined the right to abortion access
The Senate vote is disappointing but not surprising, as Senate Republicans and conservative Democrats continue to refuse to represent the interests of their constituencies. If politicians’ votes reflected the will of the people, WHPA would pass easily—80% of Americans support access to abortion in all or most cases.
We demand abortion to be legalized nationwide! We demand an end to state-sanctioned violence against women here in the U.S. and abroad! We demand an end to systemic exploitation of women’s work and labor worldwide!

On the 11th anniversary of the Fukusihma nuclear explosions, the government has still not removed the melted nuclear rods at the broken plants. There has been no decontamination and TEPCO which has
been taken over by the government is planninng to release more than 1 million tons of radiocative water In tanks surrounding the reactors.
The government continues to pressurize the refugees who left the area to return despite the fact that it still remains contaminated and dangerous. There are still tens of thousands of bags of radioactive waste that continue to remain throughout the prefecture with no place to go.
On this 11tth anniversary the Japanese government along with the US government are spending billions for preparation of war and a clear violation of Article 9 of the Constitution which forbids offensive wars and yet this is what the governnment is now violating.
The US with the support of the Japanese government is continuing to build bases in Okinawa and terrorizing the population with jet and helicopter noise pollution, spread of covid by US military personel and rapes and attacks on Okinawan people.
WE demand that there be no restarting of nuclear plants in Japan, full compensation for the refugees and for
government officials to be held accounntable for this dangerous condition still facing the Japanese people and
the world.
