This month our film has to do with Diabetes, since November is the American Diabetes Month.  It’s a Flim Festival winner that has some promise for people suffering from Diabetes.  Also, we’re shifting to the 2nd Friday of the month because the church has an event scheduled for the 3rd Friday and for that weekend.  This is a one-time shift and we plan to be back to the 3rd Friday again in December.

It will be Hybrid event with live screening at the church (UUS).  The official flyer is attached and here is our email version:

Presents

THE HUMAN TRIAL

Friday, November 11, 2022

6:30pm (PDT), 7:30 pm (MDT), 8:30 pm (CDT), 9:30 pm (EDT)

(This event will be an hybrid event with both virtual and at-the-church viewing.)

For November, which has been designated American Diabetes Month, we will

screen the film The Human Trial by filmmakers Lisa Hepner and Guy Mossman.
The Human Trial is a compelling insightful look at the hard and often stagnating process of scientific research and clinical experiments. It also showcases the highs and lows of clinical research with a clear and focused eye towards how progress, when it happens, is often incremental.

Following the screening there will be a presentation by UUSF’s own Cadell Child a retired RN and is currently serving as Ombudsman for the Laguna Honda Center.  Cadell not only has treated people with diabetes but has educated them and the community at large through lectures, workshops, etc..
