Late last week Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) introduced an important amendment to the Defense Appropriations bill, the Pentagon’s funding bill. The amendment would cut off United States’ support for the Saudi Arabia-led war in Yemen until the Secretary of Defense can certify that the coalition’s air campaign is not violating international law and US policy related to the protection of civilians.
The crisis in Yemen is already considered the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Senator Murphy’s amendment comes in the wake of the latest tragedy – a horrific school bus attack, which killed 44 children and 10 adults and highlighted the coalition’s repeated strikes on innocent civilian targets. The bomb used in that air strike was made in the U.S.A.
I need you to call your senators today and urge them to co-sponsor this critical amendment.

Up to one-third of all Saudi-led coalition airstrikes hit civilian targets. I was terrified to learn that a school bus was recently attacked, using a bomb made by the U.S., killing 44 children. I would like to get a response back as to whether the senator will co-sponsor this amendment.
