Boycott Target beginning February 1

Hello Somebody!

Let’s be clear: Boycotting Target is the right thing to do.

On February 1st, We Are Somebody is launching a nationwide boycott against Target in response to their shameful decision to roll back the very program that brought Black and other minority-owned businesses to their shelves. They built this DEI initiative when it was good for business, but now that the political climate has shifted, they’re throwing it away to appease the Trumps and Musks of the world.

This is bigger than just Target. This is bigger than DEI. America is facing a test: how far will we allow these rollbacks to go?

We have two choices: boycott and flex our economic muscle, or do nothing and watch as Black-owned and other minority-owned brands slowly disappear from Target’s shelves. We know what happens next – corporations get the message that they can undo progress whenever they please, and working-class communities, particularly Black and brown communities, bear the cost.

This is how we fight back. When corporations put profit over people, when they think they can quietly erase progress, we meet them with collective action.

We are not asking – we are demanding. If Target wants to turn its back on the very communities that built its brand, then we will take our dollars elsewhere.

If we allow this rollback to happen without consequence, we will see more of it. This is about economic power. This is about justice. And this is about reminding these corporations who really holds the power in this country – the people.

Let’s make history together.

In solidarity,
