Brief description on 3 pro-Israel items up for vote:

H.R.1837, the US-Israel Cooperation Enhancement and Regional Security Act, would require the United States to give Israel a minimum of $38 billion over the next 10 years. That’s $7,230 per minute to Israel, about $23,000 per every Jewish Israeli family of four. VOTE NO!

H.Res.246 is a resolution expressing opposition to “BDS,” the international boycott of Israel over its human rights abuses. This contravenes our free speech rights under the First Amendment. VOTE NO!

H.R.1850 seeks to financially sanction any foreign org or individual who provides “support” to an organization deemed to be part of the Palestinian resistance against Israel’s illegal occupation. VOTE NO!

These 3 measures (and others) will be considered Tuesday, July 23rd after 2 pm.

When House committees passed the pro-Israel items last Wednesday, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) called them “manna for AIPAC” (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee).

Instead of massively funding a country with a terrible human rights record, policing the world on behalf of that country, and muffling free speech that would criticize that country, our representatives should take a step toward justice: they should cosponsor H.Res.496, “Affirming that all Americans have the right to participate in boycotts…as protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.”

One Response to Don’t let Congress sneak more pro-Israel legislation through on

  1. Benny says:

Rush? This legislation is pending for a long time. Second, the fact that there is a boycott movement that targets one single country, despite other countries around it engaging in abhorrent behavior is literally antisemitic and a farcical attempt to redo krystalnacht. Your opposition to these resolutions refuses to recognize the Jewish trauma that occurred worldwide in recent memory. Every Jewish community in the middle east has been wiped out by the native populations, but not a peep from anyone. But when the indigenous peoples of the land of Israel want self determination you are offended. Shame on you and study some history.
