Celebrate court ruling on Trump’s travel ban, call on tech industry to provide sanctuary to all tech workers
We gather to commend tech leaders for standing up to Trump and taking a stand for employees who could be impacted by Trump’s immigration policies. We urge them to continue that leadership by extending it to all workers on our tech campuses. We are direct employees and subcontracted workers—and together, we are calling on tech campuses to be sanctuary campuses—for all workers in Silicon Valley.
We urge Silicon Valley companies to
1. declare themselves sanctuary campuses and companies, in the vein of sanctuary cities and school campuses. This means that they will not cooperate with federal efforts to deport residents.
2. To extend the benefits, resources and protections they are providing to full-time H1-B visa holders to contractors and non-full-time staff, in addition to full-time employees.
We are collecting the testimonials of workers in Silicon Valley (full-time, contract, etc.) who are unable to be visible because of their residency status in the U.S.
