A new judge Lucretia Clemens is looking at the case and new evidence that shows that:

6 boxes of files on Mumia’s case were mysteriously “discovered” in the Philadelphia District Attorney Krasner’s office in 2019. In it a hand-written message to D.A. McGill
from the star witness, Robert Chobert, at his trial was found demanding money owed him for his perjured testimony. And Judge Wendell Griffen of the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Arkansas declared that this evidence was illegally withheld from Mumia’s defense attorneys and that Blacks were unconstitutionally excluded from the jury, that Mumia should be released and is entitled to a new trial, and Judge Lucretia Clemons on December 16 ordered the prosecution to give access to the defense to all 200 boxes of documents on Mumia’s case and she gave the defense and prosecution 60 days to examine them.

Bay Area teachers, members of UESF (United Educators of San Francisco), OEA (Oakland Education Association) and PFT (Peralta Federation of Teachers) will also teach on Mumia’s case on February 16th.

Other international actions are being organized for Feb. 16:

Unions in South Africa, led by NUMSA (National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa) and RETUSA (Revolutionary Transport Union of South Africa) will demonstrate in Pretoria at the U.S. Embassy, and in Durban at the U.S. Consulate.

Railroad workers in Japan (in the Doro-Chiba union) will organize a demonstration for Mumia in front of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo.

Watch this important, well-made film about Mumia Abu-Jamal – from Philly- a loving father, veteran Black Panther, brilliant and award-winning radio journalist and writer, and Political Prisoner of 42 years. [more about the film below]

If you can’t make it to the film but want to support Mumia’s freedom, email shakursquad.det@gmail.com

TAKE ACTION FOR MUMIA: Go to lovenotphear.com and watch the 6 minute video of Judge Lucretia Clemons, who is Mumia’s judge now. After watching the video, write a letter to the judge and email it to lovenotphear@gmail.com . We must get to the heart of Mumia’s judge.

ABOUT THE MOVIE: Long Distance Revolutionary is the first film of its kind about Mumia, who Angela Davis calls “the 21st Century’s Frederick Douglass.” This film – instead of focusing on Mumia’s case – focuses on his life, motivations, family, time in the Black Panther Party, his radio career, reporting on MOVE, his writing, and his life on Death Row. It’s an excellent and artfully made film. Watching is an act of justice and humanity.

Cast includes Angela Davis, Cornel West, Dick Gregory, Alice Walker, Amy Goodman, and Rubin “Hurricane” Carter.
