These young endured dehumanizing conditions that included sitting outdoors ziptied freezing, soiling themselves, and unable to be released to their parents until the early hours of Sunday morning. It’s clear that the San Francisco Police Department committed multiple civil and constitutional violations in these arrests, as well as the precursors that led to the escalation of violence by SFPD, instead of the trained de-escalation tactics our officers should have implemented. The San Francisco Latinx Democratic Club will be rallying with parents and community leaders tomorrow at City Hall (7/12/23) at 5:00pm, concluding at 5:20pm and providing comment at the Police Commission to demand justice, and investigations from the Department of Police Accountability and Commission on the misconduct of Saturday’s events.### |
