San Francisco youth: check out Youth vs. Apocalypse!
People of all ages who can be in San Francisco on Friday, August 27, at 10 a.m., get ready to help us say no to Line 3! And if you can’t get there in person, see below for information on how to catch our livestream and participate virtually.
Line 3 is a proposed pipeline expansion that will bring millions of barrells of tar sand from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin. Enbridge, a company at fault for the largest inland oil spill in the U.S., wants to build this new pipeline through untouched wetlands and treaty territory of Anishinaabe peoples as well as through the Mississippi River and the shore of Lake Superior.
Please meet us at the Federal Building at 90 7th Street in San Franciso on Friday, August 27, at 10 a.m. We will be on location to create art and send a message to our federal officials to stop Line 3, and to our teachers to make sure their pension fund stops investing in environmental racism and destruction. At noon, we will march to City Hall to ask elected officials there to finally clean up BayView and Treasure Island.
If you cannot attend in person, please tune in to our livestream at 10:30 a.m. (or later) to join us virtually and learn how to take action remotely. Go to bit.ly/YVASTRIKEONLINE for our Youtube channel.
If you are a student, please ask your teachers to livestream instead of the regular classes that day. If you are a teacher, please support your class’s participation.
