- The first part is the screening of To Sir With Love on our regular night, February 18, 6:30pm, followed by an oral tribute on the life and works of Sidney Poitier by Cornelius Moore, Co-Director of California News Reel and Curator of
the African Diaspora Film Club held at the MOAD (Museum of African Diaspora) here in San Francisco.
- Then on the following Sunday, February 20, 1:00PM, all are in conjunction with the Church’s theme of the month, “To Sir (Ve) With Love” the things we do for love.

To Sir with Love directed by James Clavell and starring Sidney Poitier who plays as an engineer who accepts a stop-gap job as a teacher in a rough inner- city school and given charge of a group of students who were deemed as academic outcast. Choosing to relate to the students as adults rather than children the film exhibits an example that can be used in real life that by recognizing the inherent and equal value of every individual we can transcend racial and class barriers.
