Yesterday marked day 300 of Israel’s latest genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. As Israel expands its unprecedented violence into neighboring countries, we must do everything in our power to prevent their incitement of a regional war, threatening our homelands and the lives of millions. In a series of major escalations this week, Israel destroyed Gaza’s water treatment plant, murdered several journalists, and bombed Yemen, Beirut, and Iran. The targeted assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the main negotiator for the ceasefire talks, sent a clear message to the world that Israel remains unwilling to stop the bloodshed until its genocidal project is complete. Without concerted global action to end US support for Israeli violence, these escalations threaten to drag the entire region into a major conflict whose effects will reverberate across the globe.
By bombing major cities like Beirut and Tehran, Israel is doing nothing but inciting regional conflict. We must reject Israel’s attempts to drag the region into an even bigger war. We must not allow US weapons to continue to massacre Palestinians in Gaza and we must reject Israel’s warmaking on Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, Iran, and beyond. Israel’s apartheid, occupation, and genocide threaten millions around the world. We must demand an end to all US aid and weapons transfers to Israel, and demand the US government pull back its tacit support for these reckless escalations.
Bay Area communities will rally to demand the Biden-Harris administration stop funding Israel’s war machine and take the US off the brink of war. We demand our Bay Area elected officials pull ALL support for Israel’s war and put pressure on the Democratic Party to do the same.
