First they came for the homeless
Yesterday, the city of Berkeley evicted homeless from aquatic park. Today, they served notice at our camp at the HUB. To evict, they must have enough beds for all the homeless in the city. They do not. This is a violation of the ninth circuit ruling.
We knew the cities would keep a couple of vacancies. We knew they would use those vacancies as the reason to raid.
Michelle almost died from medical neglect because homeless stay homeless after surgery. The city manager, mayor, and city council feel we have no right to exist.
This camp needs to be defended. Michelle fought for Berkeley’s post office, she helped save the library books, she helped save lives.
Her reward? Go away and die!
Please share.
