People of conscience at Microsoft can no longer stay silent.
Listen to Joe Lopez, a Microsoft engineer who spoke to crowds today after disrupting CEO Satya Nadella’s speech at Microsoft Build. His question for the CEO: “Why don’t you show how Microsoft is killing Palestinians?”
No tech is more harmful than tech that is powering genocide.

After interrupting the Build keynote, Joe Lopez emailed thousands of colleagues.1
In the email, he talks about a switch that flipped, after 19 months of witnessing Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. He knew he had to speak up, especially after other Microsoft workers, like Ibtihal Aboussad and Vaniya Agrawal, spoke out against Microsoft’s partnership with the Israeli military.
“A switch had been flipped,” Joe wrote. “….I went into work every day plagued by thoughts of the suffering that is being inflicted by a United States–Israeli war machine that runs on Azure. I joined Microsoft because I truly believed that it was the ‘more ethical big tech.’ I thought that the work that I was doing was empowering people, not causing harm.”
Joe is not the first Microsoft worker whose conscience led him to speak up against Microsoft’s partnership with the Israeli military, and he will not be the last.
Show your support for Microsoft workers now.
Tell Microsoft: No tech for genocide.
Thank you for everything you do.
