AGAINST THE CONCENTRATION CAMP AND ITS WORLD

When Trump announced the Muslim ban, tens of thousands of us blocked airports around the country. We felt called from our comfort and our screens, driven by conscience to use our bodies to prevent the ban from functioning.

Detention centers. Concentration camps. We know where this leads. We will not allow the horrors of the 20th century to define the 21st. The guards here, too, are “just doing their jobs.” We are here, answering to a call deeper than our jobs. We are here to melt the ICE that holds people captive in cages.

Against a world that reinvents the concentration camp, generation after generation. Against the borders that reduce us all to “citizens” and “aliens,” suppressing what links us. Against these walls that sever families, and those who take them captive.
