1. Sunday, 10:30am – 12:00pm, Julian Assange Birthday Rally #FreeAssangeNOW
In person
Meet at Harry Bridges Plaza
The Embarcadero at Market St. – Across from the Ferry Building
SF
Please join us to celebrate Julian Assange’s birthday and rally for his freedom! His life- along with our future freedom of Speech and Journalism- depends on it.
Julian Assange is an innocent journalist, jailed and tortured for revealing TRUTH. Global citizens deserve to know of the US/UK war crimes done in their names and with their tax dollars. Julian remains held on remand, at the behest of the USA, in Belmarsh Prison, London.
If the USA succeeds in his extradition, he will serve 175 years in the worst kind of prison; pursued under the 1917 Espionage Act. This sets a dangerous History- changing precedent for any journalist anywhere in the world and forever threatens Journalism and Freedom of Speech.
What Can You Do?
If you can’t join us for an event, consider taking a stand to educate others on your own or with friends. We’d love to promote your event on the website & social media to inspire others. Informing others, calling your Representatives & signing petitions are powerful actions.

2. Sunday, 3:00pm – 6:00pm, Come Out July 3 For Mumia Abu-Jamal
In person
Meet at
Dolores Park (By Tennis Courts)
SF
There will be a march…
July 3, 2022 marks 40 years (July 1982) since journalist and Black Panther Political Prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal was sentenced to death in Pennsylvania, framed in the government war on Black Liberation activists. Mumia is still in prison today, now an elder. There is an “All Out For Mumia” call for 40 cities to unite against 40 years of injustice on Sunday, July 3rd. From Philadelphia to San Francisco to Paris and Berlin, people are organizing to make visible, strong acts of solidarity and education in the movement to free Mumia on July 3rd.
Mumia is a brilliant writer, journalist, and thinker, known as the “voice of the voiceless” for his truth-telling, profound political analysis, courageous words, and humanity reaching out from what he calls the bowels of the modern slave ship – U.S. prisons. Year after year, from prison, Mumia continues to teach, report, and analyze current day events.
The SF event is being organized by Mumia’s grandson

In Person
Dolores Park
19th St.
SF
In a country where we can finally stop wearing masks to get pizza and go to the movies, and where we again have a president who isn’t dumb as a two dollar ham, hard-working, middle-aged liberals Ralph and Alice wistfully yearn for The before Times, when things seemed normal. But for Zoe – their twenty-something daughter who grew up in a world of climate change, housing crashes, student debt, the rise of dictatorships and the fall of democracies – there is no “better” to go back to. For her the purgatory of the last two years was just a pause from life in Hell. So what’s the point? Isn’t it easier to just give up?
Written by Michael Gene Sullivan with Marie Cartier

Directed by Velina Brown

In person picket
La Raza Community Resource Center
474 Valencia St. (Outside)

Support workers at La Raza Resource Center – especially those that have been fired for protesting.
La Raza’s executive director has intimidated his workers who have protested and supported fellow employees who were fired.
-He also has not been honest with the public about the situation at La Raza.
-There is concern that he will ruin La Raza and this will deprive the community of vital services La Raza has provided for over 50 years.
–The call is for the resignation of La Raza’s executive director!
-Workers of Companeros del Barrio, decided to join that demonstration in support of the workers’ struggle.
It is done during their lunch time.
‘Mothers On The March’ and other community members are also participating in the picket
SUPPORT is welcomed. Come learn about this struggle.
