2. Saturday, 8:00am – 11:00am (PT) MLK’s Dream: 60th Anniversary of March on Washington Livestream

LIVESTREAM:
https://www.facebook.com/nationalactionnetwork

https://www.facebook.com/DrumMajorInst/

Website: https://www.mow2023.com/

Come join the civil & equal rights march and rally honoring and continuing the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington and MLK’s “I Have A Dream Speech”.
It’s Not A Commemoration, It’s A Continuation! We March On!

Democracy faces its greatest threat in years. Hard-fought civil rights are being decimated nationwide.

The March on Washington 2023, because it is one tool of many, we are collectively using an opportunity to recenter and engage the movement following a disastrous term after
Supreme Court decisions and the continued erosion of our rights by legislators and courts across the country.

This march continues the original 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, carrying the same issues of discrimination and civil rights abuses.

Our civil rights are under severe attack!

There are many mass efforts by some to assert control over us and our voting rights. Violence, intimidation, and attempts to erase our history are political tools that underestimate the power of the people.

Hate crimes, hate speech, and antisemitism against our communities based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability are at their highest. These attacks perpetuating long-standing systemic injustices do not have a place in democracy.

Join us to fight against white supremacy and disinformation and to uphold our collective values of freedom, equality and justice. This collaborative effort centers on communities, their voices, and young people.

On The 50th Anniversary of Chile Coup- Special Free Screening of, ‘Nae Pasaran’
Scottish Workers Take Solidarity Action To Support Chilean Workers & People Against Pinochet Dictatorship

The feature-length film tells the story of four Scotsmen – Bob Fulton, John Keenan, Robert Somerville and Stuart Barrie – who along with their workmates
downed tools and refused to service and repair engines for the Chilean air force’s British-made Hawker Hunter jet fighters. It explores just how significant
their actions were in depriving the Chilean military dictatorship of much of its air power, contrary to the latter’s claims at the time, through witness statements
not only from several victims of the 1973 military coup but also from the unrepentant former Chilean Air Force chief Fernando Rojas Vender.[4]

There will be a panel with guest trade unionists from Chile & also a short video about the heroic experience and work of the Cordones Industriales (Workers Councils). The Workers
Councils fought against the US economic blockade and the Chilean ruling class-created scarcity and black market by instituting worker controlled factories and production lines.

– The Witherspoon Institute,
– CanaVox,
– Global Rainbow Crossers Alliance

The Christian far-right in Singapore are using state collaborators to persecute and silence their victim-witnesses.

9. Sunday, 4:00pm – 7:00pm, Car rally for Artsakh

Meet at:

Stonetown  Galleria
SF

We will congregate in the parking lot of Stonetown galleria at the souther end parking lot, north of SF State U at around 4:00 pm And move out from there.

We will end at the Vogue theater to see the Aurora sunrise (optional)

Routes and direction will be provided to participants the day before.

Since December of 2022, the fascist republic of azerbaijan has put 120,000 Armenians, 30,000 of whom are children, in the free and democratic Republic of Artsakh under blockade. Aliyev, the de facto sultan of azerbeijan, has turned Artsakh (Nagorno Karabagh) into the Warsaw concentration camp. And aims to repeat what Hitler’s beloved Azeri and Turkish troops did there, slaughter everyone indiscriminately.

It is worth noting that azerbaijan and turkey (gobble gobble) are two of the most racist countries in the world at this moment. There can be no peace with the amount of vitriolic and institutionalized racism that both countries spew out on daily bases.

The choice people of Artsakh are given is basically the method of death. Starvation or torture, beheadings, rape and mutilation.

By torturing and killing the Armenians in Artsakh both turkey and azerbaijan aim to bring the Republic of Armenia to its knees and force it to give up the souther part of the Armenian territory (the famed province of Syunik) So that the pan Turkic empire can become a reality.

This is being done in the plain view of the world. With western governments ignoring it and the media hardly reporting it.
(we’re not blonde enough)

It is up to us, friends, allies, comrades to focus the public’s attention on this matter. And hence a car rally in San Francisco. The public needs to be informed of what is happening in Armenia and Artsakh.

11. Tuesday, 5:00pm, Rally: Tell GOOGLE No Tech For Israeli Apartheid (GOOGLE Cloud Conf.)

Moscone Convention Center
747 Howard St. (nr. 3rd St.)
SF

RSVP: Bay Area! Tell Google: No Tech for Israeli Apartheid @ Google Cloud Next – Action Network

ALL OUT BAY AREA: @google workers and community will lead a rally at @google’s Cloud Next Conference on August 29th @ 5:00 PM to demand an end to @google’s contract with the Israeli military and government! Join us in demanding an end to this!

RSVP: notechforapartheid.com/RSVPNext

PROJECT NIMBUS MUST END!
For over two years, Amazon and Google workers have been organizing to end the “Project Nimbus” contract, a $1 Billion contract between Google, Amazon, and Israel’s military, produced in the wake of Israel’s brutal siege on Gaza in 2021.

Google and Amazon workers have been organizing collectively to end their companies’ Project Nimbus contract with the settler state of Israel and its brutal military. They have made it clear that they do not want their labor to be used to enable the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians through Google and Amazon’s technical support of Israel’s AI and mass surveillance apparatus. Tech workers and community activists remain unwavering in their demand: Google must stop profiting from fueling the injustice and violence that began with the Nakba and that Palestinians continue to face to this day.

On August 29th, Google will be holding Google Cloud Next conference in San Francisco, bringing thousands of “cloud enthusiasts” to the Moscone Center to celebrate Google Cloud’s first year of profitability. But what is there to celebrate, when one of your biggest clients is using your technology for committing state violence, mass surveillance, and apartheid?

Join us as we disrupt Google’s Cloud Next Conference to shine a light on Project Nimbus and engage workers, community and the progressive movement in a long-term campaign to end this nefarious contract, and more broadly to oppose the unethical use of AI and technology for militarization and repression, particularly by Google and Amazon.

12. Wednesday, 10:30am – 12:30pm, Community Rally and Port of Oakland Airport Development Public Hearing

Sidewalk Rally in front of Hilton Oakland Airport Hotel,
 1 Hegenberger Road, (International Ballroom)
Oakland

RSVP: Take Action — Stop OAK Airport Expansion Coalition (stopoakexpansion.org)

Port of Oakland Public Hearing. Port representatives will be available at poster stations to provide information and answer questions for the first 30 minutes of the meetings. A presentation by the Port will begin 30 minutes after the start of the in-person meetings followed by an open forum for public comment.

Oakland Airport is planning an expansion to add up to 16 new gates putting the community and climate at risk. More flights = more global warming, more pollution, more noise.

Let’s show the Port Commission that expanding the OAK Airport is NOT climate justice! Thousands more flights are projected for OAK exposing community members and airport workers to more air pollution, noise, and global warming emissions, which flies in the face of California’s climate commitments. The Port is holding their second public hearing on August 30th to share information and to receive public comments. Join us for a sidewalk rally and then make a public comment!

13. Wednesday, 4:00pm, Labor Traitors Out Of Our Unions-No Support For Tech Billionaires & Their Robotaxi Invasion

240 Golden Gate Ave.
SF

Demo Against AI and Olga Miranda

Olga Miranda is the president of Local 87, the Janitors Union. She has publically come out in support of AI – Robotaxs (Wymo & Cruise) expansion in SF.

She is also the vice president of the SF Labor Council. Nearly the entire labor movement is against thousands of robotaxis destroying jobs and public transportion in San Francisco. They also threaten

the safety of the people of San Francisco.

The SEIU 87 janitors president has become a shill for Cruise and the tech billionairs for a few jobs. This is business unionism.

She led the rally at the CPUC for these companies who are intent on using AI and allowing thousands of these taxis on the streets with no regulation.

She has a long history of supporting the police against Black and Brown people, supporting the POA, Supporting apartheid Israel and bullying her members in their meetings threatening to beat them up.

These anti-labor reactionary methods do not belong in the labor movement. It is time for labor traitors to go!

On Thursday, August 10 the CPUC passed for expansion of Robotaxis, despite community opposition and even the Fire Chief.

The Battle of Seattle was a series of protests which took place during the WTO’s Ministerial Conference in 1999. The event marked a growing movement against global neoliberal schemes to enrich multinational corporations on the backs of workers and resources of people around the world.

The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit coming to SF in November is a continuation of disastrous US imposed trade policies to promote corporate profit over the well-being of people all over the world. Learn more about the No to APEC campaign!
