Our Revolution: Vote Yes on 33!

Our Revolution is getting out the vote on behalf of YES on Prop 33 — the statewide ballot measure for rent control in California — because The Rent is Too Damn High.

Right now, the average rent is almost $3,000 a month in California! We can’t afford to keep paying this. Too many of us are struggling, and 171,000 Californians are without a home entirely.

Click to pledge to vote YES on Prop 33 — and support our best chance to lower housing prices in California!

Not only will Prop 33 remove the CA ban on Rent Control, it will allow cities and counties to expand Rent Control. And, this is huge, it will allow local communities to stop predatory corporate landlords from charging unfair and unaffordable rents.

Prop 33 will be on the ballot in November because the Justice for Renters coalition – made up of renters, veterans, seniors, parents, and young people — got together and organized across the state of California to deliver more than 730,000 letters to Gov. Gavin Newsom to support Yes on 33.

Now let’s show our support and get lower rents in California this November!

Our Revolution is proud to be part of this massive coalition of working people fighting alongside social justice organizations and labor unions for Justice for Renters — including labor icon Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers union alongside Cesar Chavez, who is speaking out for Prop 33.

We echo her important warning to voters not to be fooled by the California Apartment Association, the front group for corporate landlords fighting against rent control by spreading lies about Proposition 33.
