4. Tuesday, 3:30pm, Speak in Support of Oakland Divest
Oakland City Hall
Council Chamber
Oakland
Currently, the meeting starts at 3:30pm and Open Forum (where you can make a public comment on any issue not on the agenda) will be at the end of the meeting. We have been told the meeting will definitely be at least 3 hours, so Open Forum is expected to be 6pm+.
What does this mean for your arrival??
If arrive 3:30-5pm, you can get a speaker card for Open Forum and/or make a public comment on any agenda item in the consent calendar (first section of the meeting) and just weave in the divestment demand.
If arriving after 5pm+, someone onsite will need to get your speaker card for you (they only give them out the first 90 minutes of the meeting) or you can email the City Clerk by Sunday night to request one.
As we continue to witness the violence of the Zionist occupation and the spectacle of the election, we must remember the impact of our collective efforts. Divestment is one important way to take action.
This action is to pressure City Council to submit divestment legislation by Nov 21st, so it can be voted on by the end of this year. The election has caused delays in submittal, the next two weeks will be crucial for there to be a voting chance this year.

7. Thursday, 4:00pm (PT); 7:00pm (ET), Building a People’s Arms Embargo: How to divest from weapons companies profiting from the Gaza genocide
Registration via Zoom: Webinar Registration – Zoom
It’s our role to stop the weapons: we know that *70%* of Israel’s genocide has been paid for by U.S. tax dollars, and both the policymakers *and* the profiteers of genocide live & work here in the United States. When the masses of people coalesce around strategic campaigns against mega-corporations, we transform the economic outlook of apartheid Israel, pressuring the powerful to cut ties with genocide.
Join us to learn about a series of strategic BDS campaigns for companies, institutions, and governments to cut ties with genocide, called the People’s Arms Embargo. We can win, like the movement for divestment from South African apartheid before us, but first we need to win campaigns that politically and economically isolate corporations that send weapons to Israel. We’ll share new resources and lessons on this expanding are of BDS work. Then, we’ll hear from a former and a current USCPR fellows and other local campaign organizers:
–Hear from Aisha with Palestinian Youth Movement’s Mask Off Maersk campaign and Honor the Earth about taking on the underbelly of imperialism: the logistics company Maersk that is responsible for shipping weapons and military goods to the Israeli Ministry of Defense
–Learn from Adan from New Orleans Stop Helping Israel’s Ports (NOSHIP) about how to get started with identifying local Maersk sites and demanding the company cut ties with genocide
–Get inspired by and plug into the Chevron: Stop Fueling Genocide campaign to use boycott and divestment to pressure Chevron to divest from extracting fuel for Israel from fields off the coast of Palestine.

8. Friday, 8:00am – GG26 Trial
Hall of Justice
850 Bryant St.
SF
Check Instagram gg25solidarity for updates
After 4 days of hearings in October, the first stretch of preliminary hearings on the felony conspiracy charges have concluded. They will resume on November 15th, and a judgment is expected by late November.
The GG26 legal defense team has stat4ed since day one that this is clearly a politically motivated prosecution without merit or substance.
During the hearings the DA failed to present evidence on 10 individuals who claimed they were impacted by the protest. These alleged victims only complained after the SF Chronicle publicized a tip line to the cops in a breach of journalistic ethics.
It was also revealed that one complaining witness on the bridge was in fact not blocked by protesters but by the police who sealed off all northbound lanes that day.
In continuing to pursue these trumped up charges such as felony conspiracy or 988 counts of false imprisonment, DA Jenkins continues to expose herself as a right-wing opportunist that marches in lockstep with the nations most dangerous fanatical proponents of political repression. This year we have seen MAGA republicans introduce a spate of anti-protest bills all over the nation.
DA Jenkins dogged pursuit of trumped up criminal charges against these protesters is a chilling and Trump-like maneuver to distract from and silence the real issue at hand: the genocide of Palestinians

SAFE THE DATE
Friday, November 20
Friday, 9:00am (PT); 12Noon (ET), A Year of Lost Childhood in Gaza
RSVP: A Year of Lost Childhood in Gaza (via ZOOM)
On World Children’s Day, join Defense for Children International – Palestine for “A Year of Lost Childhood,” an urgent event amplifying the voices of Palestinian children in Gaza who face a daily struggle for survival. As Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinian children continues to deny them the basic rights to life, education, health, and safety, these young witnesses will share their realities—grieving the loss of loved ones, navigating the trauma of violence, and enduring the deprivation of critical resources. This event sheds light on the brutal impacts of Israel’s policies and the relentless violations that strip children of their most fundamental rights.
This event is a call to global action. DCIP will outline ways to mobilize against the genocide facing Palestinian children, urging attendees to advocate for an arms embargo, demand accountability for perpetrators, and challenge the systemic abuses that perpetuate these crimes. Join us in standing with Palestinian children and taking concrete steps to end these injustices.
Host: Defense of Children International
