Have you heard of the ADEM elections? Every two years, the California Democratic Party elects 14 people from each Assembly District to serve as delegates in the State Democratic Central Committee. Together, these ADEM delegates have a huge say in who the party endorses, what issues the party prioritizes, and what policy ideas become law. For far too long, only party insiders knew about, ran and voted in these elections. We are trying to change that.
Who is the People’s Slate? We are a team of progressive changemakers running to represent the interests of everyday people in the California Democratic Party. If you live in Oakland, Emeryville or Alameda (Assembly District 18), we are running to bring YOUR voice to the party. Here is a link to our video and our platform.
What if I don’t live in Assembly District 18? You can vote in your own Assembly District for candidates endorsed by the Progressive Delegates Network, a diverse statewide coalition united by this policy platform. Go to progressivedelegatesnetwork.vote to find PDN-endorsed candidates in your Assembly District who share the values of advancing human rights from California to Palestine, championing progressive policies that allow working-class people to thrive and build power, and furthering democracy, accessibility, and transparency in the Democratic Party.
Only 5 Days Left to Vote – We Need Your Help!!!
Here is the deal. The election is happening right now and we are facing an uphill battle. Progressive Zionists of California, Democratic Majority for Israel and other zionist groups have raised tens of thousands of dollars to stop PDN candidates from winning and advocating for change. This is why we need your help. Turnout in this election is very low, so every vote will matter!
There are 2 ways to vote:
Vote Online by Feb 23 (if registered before Jan 31):
If you signed up to vote specifically in these ADEM elections before January 31, you can vote online. Check your email for a message from the party titled “2025 ADEM ONLINE VOTING CREDENTIALS.” Didn’t get the email? Contact adem@cadem.org ASAP and request your credentials. Ballots close Feb 23 (Sun) at 6pm.
If you live in AD18 (Oakland, Alameda, or Emeryville) please vote for the 11 members of the People’s Slate on the attached flyer.
Vote In-Person on Feb 22 or Feb 23 (if not registered before Jan 31):
If you’re just hearing about these elections and did not sign up by the Jan 31 deadline, your only option is to vote in person! Take these steps today:
- Go to https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov and check your voter registration. Are you registered Democrat? Great, you can vote in these elections! If you are not, you cannot.
- Go to https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/ to find your Assembly District number.
- If you live in AD18 (Oakland, Alameda, and Emeryville) you can RSVP here if you need a ride to the polls on Feb 22 or Feb 23 to vote for the 11 members of the People’s Slate (see attached flyer).
- If you live in another district, find the closest polling place near you and make a plan to vote during the 4h window that the polling place is open this weekend.
