University of San Francisco protest on April 29, 2025 for Palestine on Instagram
1. STUDENTS RECLAIM THE LIBRARY ATRIUM IN PROTEST OF USF’S COMPLICITY IN GAZA’S GENOCIDE. ADMIN HAS ALREADY TRIED TO BREAK IN.
Marking 1 year since the encampment, USF students answered Hossam Shabat’s call from Gaza. We will honor all our martyrs. We will not stop. We will not rest. Repression only makes us stronger.

2. STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO (USF) OUTSIDE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE TO DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY FOR COMPLICITY IN GENOCIDE!
https://www.instagram.com/bayareapym/reel/DJC7lrEoDm2/
3. USF CALLS COPS
USF admin not only called the cops on their own students, but are clearly unaware of the law and LIED about it to trick students into getting punished for protesting the genocide on Gaza: they said we needed to identify ourselves legally, arrest or no arrest.
HOSSAM CALLS, USF ANSWERS. UNTIL DIVESTMENT, VICTORY, AND RETURN… In honor of our martyr, Hossam Shabat, the soul of our soul.

4. VICTORY! The University of San Francisco commits to divesting from four companies involved in the genocide of the Palestinian people.
On April 29th, 2025, students of courage and consciousness reclaimed the Gleeson Library atrium, renaming it the Hossam Shabat Atrium after the martyred journalist from Gaza. For 19 months, the Palestinian people have been facing an accelerated genocide at the hands of the Zionist occupation, fully armed and funded by the United States government and its offshoots, including institutions of higher education. As a community committed to the end of the genocide and a fully liberated Palestine, we made a clear demand of our university: divest from genocide.
It is our responsibility, as dissenters in the heart of the empire, to keep Gaza centered in every step we take. When Gaza called, we answered, and we encourage our comrades in the student movement to continue pushing, agitating, educating, and escalating against Zionism in all of its manifestations. The depravity of the occupation knows no limit, and Gaza has officially been declared without food by the United Nations.
The moment we are in seems dire, but our resolve remains unwavering, as the steadfastness of Gaza pushes us through any hardship, repression, and attempts at subjugation: Gaza is our moral compass. As a result of our direct confrontation with the university as a tool of state power, and with unwavering persistence at task-force meetings, the University of San Francisco has committed to divesting from GE Aerospace, RTX Corporation, Palantir, and L3Harris.
No matter what we face, we will never abandon Palestinian liberation.

1. Thursday, 10:00am – 2:00pm, Join UC Workers on the Strike Line – Host: May Day Strong
UCSF Mission Bay Hospital
1855 4th St.
SF
Honor International Workers’ Day, Join UC Workers on the Strike Line May 1st Workers are the backbone of our families, communities, and the FUTURE. For the past four years, UC has failed to address its staffing crisis. UC’s recent announcement of a hiring freeze is yet another attack and insult to frontline workers. Worse, UC has failed to give fair pension benefits to workers from the newly acquired hospitals outside of UCSF. That’s why our union filed unfair labor practice (ULP) charges against UC.
UC holds billions in unrestricted reserves, has invested billions more in recent years to acquire new facilities, has increased its ranks of high paid executives by 42%, and has granted these same elites hundreds of millions of dollars in obscene raises and housing assistance they don’t need—all while refusing to make any meaningful investment in us. Frontline UC workers deserve better! Join us to support UC workers!

2. Thursday, 11:00am, Demand UC Invest in Workers and Divest From Lockeed Martin
Sproul Steps
UC Berkeley
May Day is International Workers’ Day‼️ As the UC system continues to neglect its workers, the Divestment Coalition demands the UC to divest $72.5 Million from Lockheed Martin and invest in its workers instead. Lockheed Martin is one of America’s largest weapons contractors manufacturing the Typhon Missile and THAAD weapons systems directly endangering and stoking war upon the people of the Philippines, Korea, Palestine, and many other countries all for profit! Our people are viewed as disposable. Our migrant workers here on campus are forced to leave from war torn living conditions. As the UC refuses to pay its workers livable wages, the UC chooses to instead invest in Lockheed Martin.

International Workers’ Day March & Resource Fair
While the United States is one of the few countries that doesn’t recognize May 1st as International Workers’ Day, each year our communities join millions of others across the world in uplifting working peoples’ struggles against the oppression and exploitation of peoples, lands, and nations. This year, we will continue that tradition and echo calls for the end to the violence of racism, imperialism, and capitalism. We also mark May 1st as a celebration of working people globally and their enduring struggles for justice, democracy, right relation to land, self-determination, and liberation.
This May Day we will gather in Oakland on Indigenous Ohlone land to show our support for working class struggles here at home, and beyond. We will march with particular urgency in solidarity with the Palestinian people and heed the call from the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions to stand with Gaza on May Day. We will join workers and peoples across the country and the world calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire to Israel’s war against Gaza, and for an immediate end to our government’s complicity in genocide.
Why a Resource Fair
From the increasing criminalization of houselessness, to city workers facing mass layoffs, to shameful inequalities in the cost of living, to disappearing funding for resource centers and social services vital to working people– profit-before-people policies and priorities have brought our beautiful city to a tipping point. Following our May 1st March, we will hold a resource fair by and for Oakland’s working communities.

Meet at:
SF Civic Center Plaza
Larkin Street between McCallister St. and Grove St.
San Francisco,
May 1st, or May Day, is International Labor Day – the day commemorates a long history of workers’ resistance and building labor power. This year, we continue to fight back!
By launching severe attacks on every aspect of working class life, with attacks on immigrant workers being at the forefront of the agenda, Trump, the right wing, and billionaires believe they can silence and intimidate us.
But we know that workers united and organized can win! Join a broad coalition of labor unions, immigrant rights groups and other community organizations in the streets this May Day to say NO to the attacks on labor, immigrants, students, and the global working class.

7. Friday, 12Noon – 1:00pm, Federal Building Fridays – Save Our Public Services!
San Francisco Pelosi Federal Building
90 7th St.
SF
The Trump-Musk regime is laying off tens of thousands of federal workers, cutting vital services, and handing the levers of power to billionaires and MAGA extremists. This isn’t about “efficiency”—it’s about erasing democratic institutions and replacing them with unchecked oligarchic rule.
That’s why we’re joining a nationwide wave of Federal Building Fridays, standing shoulder to shoulder with the federal workforce and every community targeted by this authoritarian agenda.
Why We Protest
Federal workers are being illegally fired and silenced.
Public agencies are being dismantled and handed to private profiteers.
Veterans, disabled Americans, low-income families, and students are losing essential support.
Musk’s DOGE agency is a wrecking ball dressed in tech jargon, backed by power-hungry elites who want to rule like kings.
Why We Fight
Because democracy only survives when people defend it.
Because public service matters.
Because our voices are louder when we rise together:
Bring your voice, your signs, and your solidarity.
No more purges. No more billionaire takeovers. No kings—then, now, or ever.

8. Saturday, 11:00am – 12Noon, On World Press Freedom Day May 3, 2025, Stop The Genocide Against Palestinian Journalists
Harry Bridges Plaza
Across for Ferry Building
SF
Stand Up To Protest The Genocide Against Palestinian Journalists, Their Families and the Defense of All Journalists Around the World & In The US
Free The Journalists NOW!
May 3, 2025 is recognized as World Press Freedom Day. It comes as the horrific targeting, arrests, torture and murder of Palestinian journalists by Israel with the support of the United States continues unabated.
Over 180 journalists have been murdered in Gaza and the West Bank and the arrests and murders continue.
Many journalists have also been arrested and jailed by the Israeli government such as Nablus journalist Samer Khuwaira.
The growing fascist movements around the world have also been a deadly threat to journalists globally and the attack on US journalists who have been labeled scum by President Trump.
We must stand together to remember the Palestinian journalists and their families who have lost their lives because these journalists were prepared to give up their lives to break the information blockade by the Israeli government and the corporate media who have helped do damage control for these crimes.
We urge all journalists and their unions to join this fight for journalists and the right to report without fear of imprisonment and death.
Sponsored by WorkWeek, UPTE Members For Palestine, United Front Committee For A Labor Party, Pacific Fight Back

9. Sunday, 1:00pm – 3:00pm, Boycott Chevron!
Temescal Chevron
5500 Telegraph Avenue
Telegraph & 55th,
Oakland
Join a monthly demonstration at the Chevron in Temescal
Signs and chants will be provided. Bring your energy!
Israel’s genocide machine couldn’t run without power from Chevron. Israel’s war on Gaza and Occupation of Palestine contributes to the climate catastrophe. Chevron supplies light and energy via it’s operation and co-ownership of two major Israeli-claimed fossil gas fields in the Mediterranean.
Chevron’s extraction activities are funneling millions of dollars in tax revenues to Israeli government coffers, directly fueling Israel’s system of settler colonialism and violence against all Palestinians. In 2022, those revenues amounted to over $462 million.
BDS is a global nonviolent Palestinian led movement, we demand that Chevron immediately cut its contracts with genocidal Israel, and end its role in climate
devastation globally.
Following in the tradition of the anti-apartheid gas station boycotts of the 60s & 70s, Palestinians and allies are building a global movement to hold Chevron accountable for its crimes through a coordinated boycott of Chevron gas stations and products around the world.
Join the campaign: Pledge to #BoycottChevron now at bit.ly/boycottchevron.
