Alphonse Gabriel “Al” Capone (January 17, 1899 – January 25, 1947 ) was a notorious Chicago gangster and businessman during Prohibition (1920-1933). He led the Chicago Outfit from 1925–1931, and was known for his ruthlessness and violence, particularly the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre of 1929.
