We’re celebrating a huge birthday this Thursday: the 61st anniversary of Medicare!

Over six decades ago, brave civil rights organizers fought to make sure our seniors got the health care they deserved. With over 163 million people entitled to coverage over the program’s lifetime, it’s been a resounding success.
But the vision of those organizers has not yet been fully realized. We still don’t guarantee health care as a right in this country. That’s why we’re organizing to remind our leaders there is still more work to do — passing Medicare for All.
This Thursday, July 30, we’re hosting a National Medicare for All Day of Action. While there isn’t an event in CA-11, you can still make your voice heard by delivering our action materials directly to your member of Congress’s district office!
Our materials explain how our health care system is failing, why we need Medicare for All, and why watered-down alternatives are not acceptable. Hand-delivering them ensures our message cannot be ignored: we won’t back down until we win guaranteed health care.
Will you commit to printing out these materials and dropping them off at your member of Congress’s district office this Thursday, July 30? Here is a list of their offices:
Congressperson Pelosi’s Office
90 Seventh Street Suite 2-800, San Francisco, CA
Here are links to your drop-off materials:
- “Now is the Time for Medicare for All” Organizational Sign-On Letter
- Medicare Birthday Card (make sure to print double-sided and sign your name!)
- Medicare for All Fact Sheet (only print this if your representative is NOT a Medicare for All Act cosponsor; you can check if they are by clicking here.)
If you can commit to this, reply to this email and let us know! And after you’re done, be sure to let us know how it went.
We’ll only win guaranteed health care if people in all corners of the country step up, just like they did over 61 years ago. Thank you for making a difference in CA-11.
In solidarity,
Nurses’ Campaign to Win Medicare for All
