WHAT: Rally asking Chevron to pledge not to drill in the Arctic
WHEN: Wednesday, May 29 at 9:30 AM
WHERE: Chevron Park Auditorium, 6001 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon (We will meet at the plaza across the street near Peet’s Coffee.)
Oil and gas drilling in the Arctic Refuge is wildly unpopular among the American public because it would threaten the human rights of the Gwich’in Nation, industrialize one of America’s last wild places, and exacerbate climate change.
Drilling in the Arctic would also be bad business. The remote nature of the Refuge, combined with global appetite to limit climate pollution, make drilling in the coastal plain an expensive risk that’s not worth taking.
Please bring signs, water, and good energy, and use the hashtag #protectthearctic.
See you there!
