This month we’re doing a film about Haiti, even as Gazah is a household word.  The Hamas-Palestine-Israel war came on a bit late to make that theme happen this month, but we’ll be visiting that issue soon.

We will delve deeper into Haiti this month and try to learn more about the country that has suffered so much.  This film directed by Kevin Pina takes us into the streets and gives meaning to the title of the film with the police calling the demonstrators “bandits”.

Our film, Haiti: We Must Kill the Banditsby filmmaker Kevin Pina, is a riveting documentary film on the foreign military intervention that, in 2004, overthrew the elected government of Jean-Bertand Aristide.

The film provides a rare account from the other side of the vast radicalized class divide and is a must see for anyone trying to go beyond the worn-down clichés and view points presented by the media in their coverage of the crisis in Haiti.

Warning this film contains graphic images of human rights abuses.
