| The powerful response to President Trump’s Muslim ban — in courts, at airports, and in the streets — is a good sign of what’s to come from the American people. This wasn’t the first time we’ve seen government actions that discriminate. Nor will it be the last.

On Feb. 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which authorized the rounding up of Japanese Americans during World War II. The ACLU of Northern California represented Fred Korematsu, a young man who refused to comply with the racist executive order. I’m proud of the long history of people of decency and courage standing up for justice in this country. Join me on Sunday, Feb. 19 as we mark this long march for justice. I’m grateful that thousands of people like you have chosen to take a stand with the ACLU.
