Whether it’s 14-year-old Rashawn Williams stabbed to death in our neighborhood, or our neighbors Amilcar Perez Lopez and City College student Alex Nieto, both killed by San Francisco Police, too many of our neighbors have been needlessly killed or injured, and others sent to prison. Too many parents have shed too many tears.
So twice each month, faith communities in San Francisco’s Mission District walk the streets of our neighborhood where violence has occurred.
Along the way, we stop to listen to the stories of our neighbors, sometimes talk with family and friends of those killed, and often pray for both the victims and the perpetrators of the violence.
In our Nightwalks, we hope to bring not only comfort, but also a challenge — to ourselves, our neighbors, and our City — to uproot the causes of that violence, whether it is done by individuals, gangs, or law enforcement.

In person
Berkeley South Branch Library
1901 Russell St.
Berkeley
Working people are falling further and further behind, while billionaires and big business hoard the wealth that WE create.
Workers Strike Back is an independent movement organizing in our workplaces and on the streets against the bosses and their political servants. It is being launched by socialist Seattle Councilmember Kshama Sawant, Socialist Alternative, and others who want to fight back.
The Democrats and Republicans both answer to the billionaires, not working people. We need our own organization to fight unapologetically for living wages, free healthcare, quality affordable housing, and good union jobs for all! We need to base ourselves on a fighting strategy and mass movements, not on accommodation with those in power.
Launch events for Workers Strike Back are being organized in major cities around the country. Join us on March 4th, 2pm at Berkeley South Branch Library Meeting Room for our Bay Area launch meeting, and hear from workers and union activists in higher education, the building trades, and more!
Host: Workers Strike Back Bay Area

6. Monday, 10:00am, Rally/Protest to Demand that CA Attorney General, Rob Bonta pursue charges against officer Chris Samoyoa
In person – meet at:
350 McAllister St.
SF
We are demanding that State Attorney General Rob Bonta pursue charges against former SFPD officer Chris Samoyoa for the use of excessive force resulting in the murder of Keita O’Neil.
In the court hearings on this case since Brook Jenkins was elected as the district attorney, it has been evident that she and her office are incapable of advocating for justice or a fair trial.
This case is important because it is the first time that a SF police officer is being charged.
If AG Bonta doesn’t take this case the charges against Chris Samoyoa will be dismissed.
We are also calling for the recall of Brooke Jenkins for her inability to execute justice and her alignment with the SF Police Officers Association and wealthy campaign contributors.
**URGENT:
Please call Bonta’s office and leave a message stating the above concerns
